After releasing his highly lauded Dagger Paths, Forest Swords has been relatively quiet. However, last month the producer released the single Thor’s Stone and now we have a new song, The Weight Of Gold, and details on his upcoming album. The Weight Of Gold begins with an ethereal horn and the sounds of swirling winds and the track soon builds momentum as various elements such as high pitched strings, crisp percussion, intense distorted vocals and a subtle melodic bass undertone are all placed on top of one another and then stripped down again, only to be reassembled in another majestic fashion towards the end of the track. The song is featured as the fifth track on Forest Swords’ upcoming album Engravings, which will be released courtesy of Tri Angle Records on August 26th.
