Ellie Goulding releases pumping new single

Ellie Goulding has made a mark on the electro-pop world with her synth-heavy chirpy pop tunes, iconic vocal gymnastics, incredible falsetto and her ability to blend into whatever trap, dubstep, electronic remix that producers and DJ’s can fathom.

A few days ago, Goulding released this catchy up-tempo single entitled Burn, which she revealed would be the front-runner for a repackaged release of her 2012 album Halycon Days coming later this year. The new version of the album will feature all the hits from its original release and include brand spanking new tracks from the British songstress such as this track Burn, and her very original cover of Alt-J’s Tesselate she released a few weeks ago.

Burn is not dissimilar to the hugely popular song she collaborated with David Guetta on I Need Your Love; with its synth-ridden melody with Goulding’s cleverly manipulated vocals dancing over the top, rhythmic punchy bass lines, strong build-ups and powerful drops. Burn’s strength as a single lies in the fractured manipulation of Goulding’s voice perfectly in sync with a similar treatment of the bass and synth. The catchy chorus and energetic feel will surely make it a popular dance track.

Burn screams electro-pop and although it is methodically mainstream and strays away from Goulding’s soulful and sultry capabilities, it’s definitely an enjoyable track that will definitely please her fans in preparation of her re-released version of Halycon Days.
