Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, is infamous for being honest about his various vices and the song and video for Kiss Land does little to negate this. The track has been cut short for the video, dismissing the first three minutes or so of the song which was more atmospheric and focusing entirely on the last four minutes which is much more intense and features a more trap influenced production from Silky Johnson. The Weeknd doesn’t stray far from his usual subject matter of meaningless sexual encounters with groupies and his drug addiction and the video features various pornographic scenes all put through a gritty VHS edit.
