It was with great disappointment to the many fans (Including myself) of the indie rock/shoegaze outfit ‘Yuck’, to learn that front man Daniel Blumberg would be exiting the band to pursue “other things”. On top of the already pre-existing side project of Daniels ‘Oupa’, he has now unveiled his new project under the name of ‘Hebronix’.  His first single under the new title, ‘Unreal’, suggests a slightly different direction for Daniel in comparison to the strong guitar and drum driven style of yuck, whilst maintaing his expectedly poetic and carefree musical style. With an almost ‘Country music’ influenced sound, Daniels whimsical lyrics and vocal style doesn’t by any means come across as foreign in their new musical surroundings. A heavily guitar oriented jam toward the latter end of the tune concludes this romantic ballad, assuring fans of Daniels preserved musical brilliance regardless of what name he is performing under. Stream the title track from debut album Unreal, out July 9 in the U.S. via ATP Recordings below.
