The quartet from Copenhagen called When Saints Go Machine have a new album, ‘Infinity Pool’, set for release on the 28th, although you can stream the album in its entirety via Pitchfork Advance. The group have released the music video for the enchanting song ‘Iodine’, which features an eerie desert setting with a man in a hazmat suit exploring a crystalline cave. The somewhat slow video fits with the song, which features intensely swirling instrumentation and the haunting vocals hovering subtlety over it. The vocals on this track are the main feature, being some of the most beautiful that When Saints Go Machine have done in my opinion, especially during the chorus with the lines “All the sky, let it fall, bite your lip, let go,” and the rest of the lyrics play off this same desolate theme. Check out the video and search for their first video from ‘Infinity Pool’, ‘Love and Respect’ which dropped in March and features a more abrasive beat and Killer Mike. Yes really.
