There’s no shortage of east coast hip hop outfits, evident with the success of the A$AP mob, Pro Era and Flatbush Zombies, who along with The Underachievers form the loosely associated Beast Coast movement. The variety within these cliques sets them all apart and makes each project feel different, with The Underachievers not subscribing to the old school revival or new school movement, but hovering between. Their new single ‘May’s Patience’, named so because it hints at a new June release from the duo called CHAPTER 23, features a more old school beat and Issa Dash and Ak exchanging verses as expertly as they did on their debut mix tape Indigoism. The song seems to be about how positively received this tape was, seeing both rappers engage in a large amount of braggadocio and asserting how they’re about to blow up, which is very much justified.
