Mikky Ekko has released a new song entitled Disappear, an incredible and enchanting follow-up to the widely popular Pull Me Down (produced by Clams Casino). He also co-wrote and featured in Rihanna’s pop ballad song, Stay. This song starts with angelic and hypnotising ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ that set up the tranquil yet refreshing mood to the song, and they provide a pleasant backdrop for Mikky Ekko’s beautifully reverberated voice when it enters. The song builds up into the bridge as a synth enters and his voice gets louder and more dynamic with powerful harmonies to accompany it. The ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ continue lingering in the background, grounding the lead vocals, adding a haunting element to the song. There is a climax in the song where more bass and drums are incorporated yet still showing the incredible composure and restraint, which Mikky Ekko is the master of. This song seems to lull you into a relaxed trance with its angelic and harmonic vocals, haunting melody and emotional lyrics, so I for one am definitely excited for Mikky’s future endeavours!
