Sydney based experimental electronic band Seekae have almost reached cult status within certain music spheres, so there’s no surprise that member Alex Cameron has formed a side-project under his own name to give another outlet to his extreme creativity. Seekae filmed a live session of a new song Yech in 2012 which featured Alex on vocals for the first time in the band and this led to fans making comparisons to SBTRKT and aching for more. As such, Alex’s side project may serve to tide fans over until Seekae’s next full release, but that isn’t to say that he isn’t a more than capable artist in his own right. After his first music video and single Gone South, Alex has released the track She’s Mine, a track steeped in 80s synth riffs. Alex’s Soundcloud page states that he has “a voice like honey and lyrics that sting,” and I couldn’t have put it better myself. There is no news on any full lengths or EPs from either Alex or Seekae, but lets hope neither of them take too long to deliver.
Sounds like: Twin Shadow, Seekae
