NEW CLAMS CASINO – BOOKFIEND FT. DOOM

Ambient beatmaker and producer Clams Casino has released a new single on his soundcloud featuring the legendary and elusive DOOM. The track, Bookfiend, features Clams’ typical cloud rap sound which has propelled him to fame via his collaborations with artists such as Mac Miller, Lil B and most notably A$AP Rocky. The production is a strange choice for DOOM, whose most critically acclaimed work came with more classically driven beats from the old school era of hip-hop, most notably his album Madvillainy with Madlib, and this single sees him stray even further from this sound than the more electronically driven Key to the Kuffs album with Jneiro Jarrell that dropped last year. DOOM adjusts his flow to suit the more ambient and peaceful backdrop, using his possibly most reserved flow ever, emphasizing his hoarse and gruff voice between his multi-level rhyming schemes. While the collaboration between two figure-heads in old school and new school hip-hop isn’t the most likely, the track has got many salivating for the other collaborations of DOOM on Lex Records which was a promise made with the track.
