Madlib kicks off unreleased Quasimoto anthology

The mere mention of fresh Madlib activity sparks frenzy upon many hop hip fans in the quixotic hope that he, and MF Doom are finally going to release a new Madvillain tape. Sadly, it looks like we will have to wait that little longer for the illustrious album, but fans of one of Madlib’s most popular rapping alter egos – Quasimoto – can pander their desire for new material with the announcement of a Quasimoto compilation of unreleased material named Yessir Whatever, via Stone Throw, released June 18. The first taste of this tape is single ‘Planned Attack’, that sees Quasi’s trademark smooth and slow dance beats masterfully assaulted by Madlib’s high pitched and hypnotic flow. Intricate samples and disc scratches are carefully laced throughout the track, providing nothing but reassurance of Madlib’s consitency and proficiency throughout his discography.

Yessir Whatever tracklist:
1 Broad Factor
2 Seasons Change
3 The Front
4 Youngblood
5 Astronaut
6 Planned Attack
7 Brothers Can’t See Me
8 Catchin’ the Vibe
9 Am I Confused?
10 Sparkdala
