French rockers Phoenix have given us a first taste of what’s to come from their upcoming album Bakrupt! with single ‘Entertainment.’ The single premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show yesterday, and is spreading like wildfire around the internet. The track features oriental synths and overdrive guitars, as Phoenix continue to build on their popular sound; it’s pure, unadulterated fun.
Also, New York rockers The Stroke’s have released another single from Comedown Machine, which is expected to drop late next month. All The Time, sees a much more mellowed effort from the famed band, and dare I say, lacks a lot enthusiasm and generates a bit of a drab sound. So perhaps not as strong as the first single ‘One Way Trigger’, but we’ll be keeping our ears open for the new LP regardless.
Finally, rap royalty Ghostface Killah has revealed the lead single – ‘The rise of the Ghostface Killah’ – from his upcoming album ‘Twelve reasons to Die.’ The album has been produced by Ghostface’s Wu-Tang colleague RZA, and the track also features young producer Adrian Younge. The song is progressive and unassuming, and some classy guitars, bells and horns float over Ghostface’s nefarious and agressive flow
